Being in a Bentley GTC, is very special, driving one, even more so. With its six-litre W12, twin turbo engine and all-wheel drive, it pulls like the proverbial train whilst you are cocooned in overwhelming luxury, more akin to a private jet than the aforementioned train. It’s a car of indulgence, something you know you don’t really need but something that makes you feel so good, that now, you can’t live without it.

Our Diamond Black example has Magnolia hide with a secondary hide colour of Beluga black. Being the desirable Mulliner Driving Specification it would have cost somewhere in the region of £150,000 when new back in 2008. Now some 18 years later we are looking at less than £20,000 for something that will still make you feel a million dollars.

Cosmetically, the 20” Mulliner alloy wheels are shod with Pirelli P Zero tyres with good tread. The burr walnut dashboard and steering wheel are in good order but the magnolia leather would probably look better with a professional clean. We have some servicing invoices on file plus a certificate of authenticity from BHPUK showing that they have carried out a re-map of the cars ECU.

We note that the engine management light was showing during photography, but this has now gone off.
