Chassis No. LRH21379 Engine No. LRH21379 Body No. 12533 Finished in Cardinal Red with Gold fine lines and a Black vinyl top, this 1975 Silver Shadow was built to the personal specification of Her Royal Highness Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon. She chose a Nuella Black leather interior with Cherry Red carpeting and a Fawn Ambla headlining, complemented by Black leather trim on the door caps, window switch and door handle escutcheons. Among the many bespoke features were Sundym glass, front ventilators, vanity mirrors, Kangol seatbelts, roof-mounted reading lights, a police lamp, flag mast, illuminated roof shield, Fiat-sourced front side flashers, rear window blind, and matching trunk carpet. She also specified soft-cushioned seats and a raised floor in the rear. Additionally, the rear armrests, rear side flashers, and Duchess straps to be omitted. The matte-finished Walnut wood trim matched that of her Kensington Palace apartment. Delivered on 5 September 1975, the new Rolls-Royce remained in Royal hands until May 1979 when the car was acquired by Dorothy Bourchier and later Donald Kerr. The car was later bought by famed actor Burt Reynolds and imported to the U.S. by Burt Reynolds Productions in 1984. The car was not registered by the Hollywood star; rather it was used sparingly on his ranch and then later sold to a Canadian collector in 1988 before returning across the pond in the early 1990s. In Europe, it passed through several enthusiastic owners who dutifully preserved the car’s originality until it was purchased by the current owner in 2021. Today the car remains in wonderful and largely original condition, showing just under 79,000 miles at cataloging which are believed to be original. Boasting an impressive, documented history dating back to new, from not only Princess Margaret but also Hollywood royalty in Burt Reynolds, the car benefits from a recent service in preparation for sale.
